Today's game was a very clear example of why having pitchers bat makes baseball so much more fun. If you didn't see it, here's what happened. With two outs, Phils pitcher Brett Myers is up to bat against Sabathia (probably the best pitcher in the NL this year). He is a career .116 hitter. His at bat goes 9 pitches and the crowd goes nuts...crazier than you'd see for a home run. He draws a walk. After that, there's an intentional walk, then a grand slam. In Myers' second at bat, he drew 10 pitches from Sabathia, and soon after that Sabathia was pulled.
This kind of craziness does not happen in the AL. I'm not a huge fan of baseball, but i have to take a strong stand on this one issue.
