ok done

it took about two hours (doh!) to dissassemble the iBook and replace the drive. The hardest part was pulling/prying the bottom plastic off the case. Also, the three torx screws on the bottom were in pretty bad shape from the start; i guess the apple folks who had previously worked on my computers did some of that stripping work.

Now i've moved the old drive into a firewire enclosure in the hopes that i can coax data out of it. Any suggestions? should i put it in the freezer and drop on concrete it a few times (ok, probably not...i don't think the problem is all stiction, even though it does make a weak scraping noise). Maybe i can try some OS9 tools that might work better on it...

How much is that last two months of data worth to me?
